About the exhibition
My contribution to the group exhibition “Images of a different nature”, which in turn enriches the festival of the International Photoscene Cologne 2025.
I took the photographs with a Minolta X700, which broke down shortly afterwards. The series is inspired by the work “Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance” by the US-American author Robert M. Pirsig.
The book is apparently about a 17-day trip through the USA by a father and son, but it rather examines philosophical questions. The reflections on the narrator’s mental illness and his relationship with his son also seem essential to me. The purely analog photo series picks up on the moods of this book and contains selected quotes.
